The studies carried out in the R&D centers established by our Ministry to focus on innovative studies and intellectual property began to bear its fruits.
A new machine has been added to the machines that are first of their kinds produced in vocational education in Turkey. In this context, a fiber laser cutting machine was produced for the first time in Iskenderun Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School, one of the R&D centers established in Hatay. The imported fiber laser cutting machine, which has a very high cost, was produced at a very low cost and successfully passed the tests.
The fiber laser cutting machine, which is widely used in industry, offers various alternatives for materials that can be cut. Fiber laser cutting machines work more efficient than other laser cutting methods and allow the cutting of reflective materials such as SD37, SD52, aluminum alloys, copper and brass.
The machine which passed the tests successfully and was produced at a very low cost is planned to meet the demands of the industry.
"Production capacity in vocational education in Hatay has increased approximately 4 times in the past three years"
Stressing that Hatay is one of the most successful provinces in vocational education, Deputy Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer said that all education workers in this province make great efforts.
Stating that the scale of cooperation with the sector in Hatay is growing, Özer said, "The tendency of our students to vocational education also started to increase. We strengthened the infrastructure of our schools. The amount of production made within the scope of floating capital, which is very important for vocational education in Hatay, has also increased considerably. For example, within the scope of floating capital, the income from the production in our vocational education schools in Hatay has increased in 2017. While the amount was 4.9 million Turkish liras, it will increase to 18.6 million Turkish liras in 2020, due to the Covid-19 pandemic. In other words, the production capacity in vocational education in Hatay has increased approximately 4 times in the past three years."
Reminding that they opened the first biomedical device calibration center in Turkey in vocational education, another R&D center in Hatay Şehit Serkan Talan Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School, Özer said: "The R&D centers we have established are a very important step we have taken to spread the intellectual property culture in vocational education. In these centers, we focused on patent, utility model, design, brand production and registration. We have provided 25 million liras of financial and infrastructural support to our 45 R&D centers that we have established. Our R&D centers successfully complete the projects we support. In this context, Iskenderun Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School focused on the design and production of CNC machines. Our high school, which previously produced a plasma cutting machine, now produced a fiber laser cutting machine for the first time. The machine passed the tests successfully. We will be able to meet the demands of our industry, as we will use the machines we produce in education in our other vocational high schools.
Congratulations to the administrators and teachers of Iskenderun Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School for their success, to the Provincial Director of National Education Kemal Karahan and his colleagues who successfully carried out these processes in Hatay and made us experience firsts in vocational education."
