"We have solid reasons"
Stressing that children are very happy to be back in school, Selçuk said keeping schools open under fair and healthy conditions, peer socialization and friendship in the school environment is vital for mental health, personal improvement, social and emotional development of children.

Selçuk noted that the Ministry had prioritized health and closed down schools in case of any risk adding that, "There are some people who criticize our decisions and this is natural but we had solid reasons to close down schools. Even if it is just for a month, our children will complete this school term with joy of being at school and playing with their friends; We want to see them start the next term full of excitement."
