Minister of National Education Ziya Selçuk met the teachers of Iğdır online as part of the "Education Meetings With Teacher Ziya" program. Minister Selçuk said "true acts of grace emerge during hard times" and thanked the teachers who remained closely in touch with their students throughout the Covid 19 ordeal and made huge efforts to secure TV sets and computers for students who needed to watch EBA TV for Distance Education after the schools were closed down due to the pandemic.

 

Preparations for the new school year after the completion of Distance Education was an important topic at Iğdır. The teachers asked for advice and suggestions from Minister Selçuk for the first days at school after a long period of separation and yearning to come together. Minister Selçuk said "the first priority is to emotionally put the students at ease" and added that the students have not been able to move around too much at home and thus they need to play games that will give them motivation to feel at ease and also be physically be more active. Minister Selçuk also said "we are making preparations to prepare programs on how children of various ages should be involved in activities. We will share this information with our teachers." Minister Selçuk also said the Ministry is making preparations for the summer season and announced "we will have a music band on EBA TV throughout the summer."

 

Good news, new school to be built
Also attending the "Education Meetings With Teacher Ziya" program was Governor of Iğdır Enver Ünlü. Governor Ünlü briefed the guests about the educational activities in Iğdır and announced the construction of a new school. A citizen identified as İshak Yaycılı has started an effort to build a 12-class school. He invited Minister Selçuk to the opening of the school. Minister Selçuk said he is very happy to hear the news and said such benevolent efforts should be a blessing.

 

Teachers invite Minister to Iğdır
A teacher Kadir Karaca told the minister the "My World" project which includes establishment of several design skills developing workshops is in progress and called on Teacher Ziya to do the inauguration of this facility. Another teacher Fadime Dereli who had her students keep the social distance and read books in open air also joined the program live.

 

A mini concert by music teacher Öznur Çapa and her colleagues added color to the program.
