Minister of National Education Ziya Selçuk sent a letter to the citizens who will retire to inform them about the courses and training programs in the public training centers.
In his letter addressed to approximately 400 thousand people who will retire in July, Selçuk said, "Now, you are in a period that you can say "I'm retired" when you talk about yourselves. Retired means 'We worked for many years, days and nights. We've grafted away.' Even the word itself is an indication of the troubles you have suffered." Selçuk, thanked the retirees for their contribution to Turkey.
In his letter Selçuk stated, "We are sure that from the first day you started your working life, you had many dreams until the day you said 'I am retired.'. We wanted to be with you as a supporter when your dreams begin. At our public training centers, we support you to gain new hobbies with 3,645 different courses, from painting and ceramics to silverwork, from jewelry design to calligraphy, from tile making to beekeeping.
With these free courses that will contribute to your retirement, we also aim to facilitate your process of coping with potential challenges you may experience in your retirement and help you to reach different experiences that you may not have had the opportunity to have for years. As you know there is e a phrase called, 'Turn the page to a new life with retirement.' Our goal is to be the wind that guides this sail. We would be glad if you stop by our public training centers and have a coffee to relax before you set off for retirement."
Emphasizing that they made an effort to spend their time productively in this process General Manager of Lifelong Learning, Yusuf Büyük stated that they are waiting for the retirees in the public training centers to see the course programs, which is approaching 3,700 in 72 fields.
Starting from July 1, the letter application, which is sent to every citizen who will retire this year, will continue annually.
