As a part of his official visit to Qatar, Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer got together with the Minister of Education and Higher Education Buthaina bint Ali Al-Jabr Al-Nuaimi.

Minister Özer expressed his happiness to visit ally and brother country Qatar and thanked Al-Nuaimi for his hospitality.
Noting that recent high level visits between two countries have reinforced existing cooperation and communication, Özer went to say "The 7th meeting of Türkiye-Qatar High Strategic Committee on December 7, 2021 in Doha and co-chaired by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Qatar Emir Al Sani made an important contribution to boosting relations in many fields. We are very happy to see that bilateral cooperation continues at a perfect level as a result of brotherhood ties and common political will." 
Özer said that education and different dimensions of education play an important role in boosting common historical-cultural ties and maintaining sustainability of cooperation potential, adding that, "We believe that common activities in education are very important. These activities will provide the opportunity to bring a new dimension to our relations and also to start new projects which will be profitable for our region. Within this framework, we believe that our close relations in education will continue at all levels in the future."
Cooperation Protocol in Education was signed between Qatar and Türkiye in 2015 and formed the legal ground for education cooperation between the two countries.
"I am also happy that you have finalized the Memorandum of Understanding concerning the education of Arabic teachers prepared by our Ministry. It is about the Arabic education of our teachers working in İmam-Hatip Schools. Teaching Arabic to these teachers who are educating 1.4 million students enrolled in these schools will make an important contribution to the education of our students," said Özer.
Minister Özer also thanked his counterpart for his support to the Qatar Turkish School which gives education to the children of Turkish citizens living in the country.
Özer mentioned Türkiye's important experience in vocational education and said that they are ready to share it with Qatar.  
Meanwhile, Minister Al-Nuaimi expressed his happiness to play host to Minister Özer and accompanying delegation and mentioned strong ties with Türkiye.
Al-Nuaimi said, "We will ask for your assistance in vocational education and assessment and accreditation in higher education."
