The Ministry of National Education took new decisions regarding the suspension of education and training in all public/private schools and informal education institutions affiliated to the Ministry in order to effectively and efficiently carry out studies in disaster areas.
In this context, the transfer of the students registered in preschool and primary education institutions in the quake-hit provinces will be made through the e-School system by the school headmastership with the coordination of the provincial and district national education directorates, within the scope of the "Transfer Due to a Natural Disaster" option, regardless of their residential addresses.
In order to provide students at secondary education level in the quake-hit provinces to access education throughout Türkiye, in case of their request, students will be placed to schools throughout Türkiye by the placement commissions without causing any grievances according to the provisions of the Paragraph 6 of Article 23 of the Ministry of National Education Regulation on Secondary Education Institutions titled "Student Placement and Transfer Commission".
According to Article 58 of the Regulation Secondary Education Institutions of the Ministry of National Education, titled "Conditional pass and lifting up for responsibility", the responsibility exams to be held within the first two weeks of the second semester will be planned by the governorships after the education starts in quake-hit provinces.
In accordance with the Regulation on Private Education Institutions No. 5580, the exams of other private education institutions in quake-hit provinces have been postponed until February 13, 2023.
On the other hand, the Driving Schools (MTSK) e-Exam sessions which will be held on February 7-12, 2023 were postponed throughout Türkiye. The Science and Art Centers (BILSEM) Exams will be held on February 13, 2023, in Türkiye but postponed to a later date in the quake-hit provinces. The journeyman and mastership exams held in vocational and technical secondary education institutions were also postponed to a later date.
In this process, the activities of guidance and research centers in all provinces and psychosocial support activities will continue for the students and their families affected by the earthquake.
Necessary measures will be taken to keep formal and informal education institutions throughout Türkiye, especially schools located in the earthquake zone and approved for use by governorships, open in order to meet the needs of citizens for accommodation and food.
