In addition to Türkiye, ministers of education and country representatives of Pakistan, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan and Iran, which are members of the Economic Cooperation Organization, and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, which is an observer member country, will attend the meeting.
The Economic Cooperation Organization, which has come to the forefront with the support of Türkiye in recent years, aims to develop cooperation between countries through studies carried out by taking into account the common cultural and historical ties of the member countries.
For this purpose, the High Level Expert Group (HLEG) Meeting will be held on the first day of the program. After the meeting, a gala dinner will be hosted by the Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin. Representatives of the Turkish Maarif Foundation, Yunus Emre Institute, the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) and the rectors of public and foundation universities that conduct studies on the Middle East and Central Asian countries will also attend the gala dinner
On the second day of the program, the 4th meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Education Institute will be held.
While the educational cooperation process was initiated among the member countries after the 1st Meeting of the Board of Trustees of the ECOEI that was held in Ankara in 2012, the work of the institute gained momentum after the 2nd meeting of the Board of Trustees which was held in Istanbul in 2017.
New decisions were taken to further strengthen the cooperation in education at the 3rd meeting of the Board of Trustees held online in 2020 due to the Covid 19 pandemic.
The works will be reviewed and consultations will be held on the activities of the ECO Educational Institute at the 4th Board of Trustees Meeting.
The biennial report of the ECOEI will be evaluated in the meeting. In addition, the exchange of knowledge and experience in the field of education among member countries, the ways of cooperation to increase technology transfer as well as to strengthen human resources will be discussed at the meeting.
The Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin will make a speech on the education policies carried out in Türkiye. The representatives of the member countries will also make presentations on the education policies of their own countries.
Bilateral meetings in the ECOEI program will be held between the education ministers of the member countries.
