It has become necessary to make the following statement in view of news stories published today in Zaman, Bugün and Millet newspapers based on Cihan News Agency news report with the headline, “The Council of State has lifted the ban ON private teaching institutions” and similar headlines.
A law suit was filed for the cancellation and suspension of execution of the first article of the Circular dated 12/08/2015 with No. 2015/13 published by our Ministry. The related Court of State department demanded a defense from our Ministry and ruled for recess in the law suit “filed with the request of execution without demanding defense; our legal consultancy department prepared the requested defense and submitted it to the court on 01.09.2015. It has been understood by the UYAP system that the plaintiff has responded to our defense and the process of our Ministry’s answer concerning aforementioned response is still pending. No verdict, notification or statement concerning this case has been made since now. Under these circumstances, the mentioned news agency and newspapers, television stations and internet sites having close relations with this news agency has been publishing “news reports” based on no official statement or document. In the light of these explanations, we call on the Supreme Board of Judges and Prosecutors and the Council of State to launch a legal investigation against the media organs that are attempting to impose psychological pressure on the court authority against those who reported this news reports without waiting for the response of the related ministry. We would like to underline the fact that no verdict or notification concerning this case has been submitted to our Ministry and ask parents, teachers and students not to rely on such fabricated news reports.
We respectfully bring this to the attention of the public.
