Mahmut ÖZER - DEPUTY MINISTER

Mahmut ÖZER was born in Tokat on May 5, 1970. He graduated from Istanbul Technical University (ITU) Electronics and Communication Engineering Department (1992). Between 1992 and 1994, he served as Electronic Engineer at Dalaman Airport, the Directorate General for State Airports Authority (DHMİ). He completed his master's and doctorate studies at Karadeniz Technical University (KTU), Institute of Science and Technology, Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering in 1996 and 2001, respectively. He worked as a lecturer in Gazi Osmanpaşa University between1994-2002 and faculty member in Zonguldak Karaelmas University Faculty of Engineering Electrical and Electronics Engineering between 2002-2010.

Özer was the Rector of Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University between 28 November 2010 and 4 October 2017. From August 1, 2015 to August 1, 2016, he served as the Chairman of the Interuniversity Board (UAK). He also served as a member of the Board of Directors and Vice Chairman of the Vocational Qualifications Authority (VQA) and a member of the General Assembly of the Turkish Standards Institute (TSE). He was appointed as the President of the Measurement, Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM) on October 4, 2017. He is currently the President of the Association of Higher Education Quality Assurance Agencies in the Islamic World (AQAAIW) and, he was appointed Deputy Minister of the Ministry of National Education On August 8, 2018.
