3. STUDENT EXAMS

In evaluation and assessment center of MONE; public and private selection and placement test in transition to secondary education, state boarding and scholarship tests at all levels, open primary education school, open education high school term exams, personnel allocation and promotion tests of all public institutions and agencies, selection and assessment tests of managers of MONE at all levels and appointment and transfer operations of teachers are realized.

4. PHYSICAL EDUCATON, SPORTS AND SCOUTING

Activities are ongoing in order to provide the students in formal and non-formal education institutions with scouting, social, cultural and sportive activities in their free time.

In 1999-2000 academic year, 37.461 teams with 326.225 members have participated the local competitions in 19 branches, in group, semifinal and Turkey championship competitions, in category of minors 842 teams 6.911 students; category of stars 1.185 teams 13.151 students; category of youngsters 1075 teams 12.276 students have participated. Together with in-school competitions approximately 3.500.000 students are participating the sports activities.

To extend folkloric dances to promote their learning by the children and youngsters, t make the children spend time with such dances in their free time, every year MONE organizes folkloric dance competition between primary education institutions (minors and stars category) secondary education institutions and non-formal education institutions at provincial, district, group and final levels. 3.630 groups, 196.000 students have participated the folkloric dance contest in 1999-2000 academic year.

Sports and scouting schools have been opened with the purpose of facilitating opportunities to students in formal and non-formal education institutions to have a good time both in summer and in their spare time, to meet new friends, and to develop joint living and sharing habits. There are 13 sports and scouting schools under MONE in forests, at the seaside and lakeside.

4.2. SCOUT HOUSES

It is planned that the scout students and their leaders in formal and non-formal education institutions may undertake scouting activities, these activities may be extended throughout the country, the scouts and leaders participating the scouting activities may work together in coordination and within a plan. The number of scout houses in 2000-2001 academic year is 82; the number of scouts using these houses is 9.676. 450 scout leaders have participated the 6 scout leader training courses.

4.2.1. Boy Scout Camps

The Boy Scout Camps are places where theoretical studies of the entire year are transformed into practice in accordance with the principles and methods of scouting, where the habit of living together is acquired and where projects for serving the society are generated.

In 2000-2001 academic year, to 48 regional – center scout camps, 5.892 scouts and 144 leaders; to scout camps with 65 tents, 15.600 scouts and 195 leaders participated.

4.2.2. Student Education Camps

Throughout the country, the students in primary and secondary education institutions are entitled to participate education camps. Focusing on the summer holiday, these camps in which sportive and cultural activities are undertaken, are preferred to be at the seaside.
