1. ACCOMODATION SERVICES
In order to meet the accommodation needs of students getting education
away from their families, studies to enlarge pensions are ongoing.
1.1. ACCOMODATION SERVICES PROVIDED BY MONE
Accommodation services provided by MONE are undertaken by nine general
directorates and one department.

In 2000-2001 academic year;
Throughout the country, there are 1.4 thousand pensions with 339.4 thousand
capacities.
Form the pensions connected to MONE, 28 % belongs to primary education,
60 % to secondary education, 6 % to private education and 6 % to special
education.
The total expenses of 208 secondary education students having education
at boarding schools under MONE is 41.607.360.000 TL and paid by National
Education Foundation.
1.2. ACCOMODATION SERVICES PROVIDED BY FOUNDATIONS,
ASSOCIATIONS, REAL AND LEGAL PERSONS
Foundations, associations, real and legal persons provide pension services
to students in secondary education, mixed education and higher education.

Total Pension Bed Capacity: 162.212
In 2000-2001 academic year;
There are 2.175 pensions 1.160 in secondary education, 462 in higher
education and 553 in secondary education+higher education.
53% of private student pensions belongs to secondary education, 21%
higher education and 26 % secondary education+higher education.
The number of students accommodated in secondary education institutions
is 38.3 thousand, in higher education institutions 40.6 thousand; secondary
education+higher education institutions are 5.1 thousand.
27% of the students accommodated in pensions is girls, 73% boys.
1.3. ACCOMODATION SERVICES PROVIDED BY HIGHER
EDUCATION CREDIT AND PENSIONS INSTITUTE
Higher Education Credit and Pensions Institute (YURT-KUR) is a legal
entity under MONE subject to provisions of private law, providing service
with social purposes.

In 2000-2001 academic year;
In 183 pensions in 73 provinces and 50 districts 92.4 thousand girls,
83.0 thousand boys totally 175.5 thousand students are provided with accommodation
service.
47% of students accommodated in pensions under YURT-KUR is boys, 53%
girls.
148.080 students who applied for residing in pensions under the Institution
are provided with accommodation service as a whole with priority given
to the girls.
Monthly pension fee applicable to students residing in normal pensions
in 1999-2000 academic year was 6 million TL. In 2000-2001 academic year,
this fee is determined as 12 million TL.
For special type of pensions (hotel type) subject to different fees,
the monthly pension fee changes between 15 million TL and 75 million TL.
Assistance provided to students under the protection of State is increased
to 1.4 million TL from 700.000 TL. Food is discounted by 20% compared
to average market prices.
Within free accommodation services of YURT-KUR; free accommodation is
provided to
6.080 students from Turkic Republics and Turk and Relative Communities
763 being TÖMER students and 5.317 being university students,
304 students with scholarships that have cultural agreements with our
Government,
47 students under the protection of State that are 9 girls and 38 boys.
