1. INVESTMENTS IN SECONDARY EDUCATION

Since there has been an increase in the number of students in secondary education due to implementation of eight-year primary education, construction of new schools and institutions regarding secondary education gained momentum. In secondary education at general education institutions, a total of 147 schools with 2.253 classrooms; 88 of the schools at general secondary education institutions with 1.510 classrooms and 59 were constructed in 2000.

From the general secondary education institutions and schools;

99 classrooms in 7 Science High Schools with the capacity of 3.960 students and 2 Science High Schools with pension capacity of 200 students and 4 Science High Schools with pension capacity of 300 students and restoration of a pension with 300 capacity, 3 Science High Schools with lodgings consisting of 10 flats each,

440 classrooms in 25 Anadolu High Schools with student capacity of 17.600 and 1 Anadolu High School with pension capacity of 300 students and lodgings with 10 flats, 3 Anadolu High School with Sports Hall of 500 and restoration of 1 Anadolu High School,

92 classrooms in 6 Anadolu Teacher High Schools with 3.940 capacity, 3 Anadolu Teacher High Schools with 300 student pension capacity and 50 flat lodging at 3 schools,

879 classrooms in 49 High Schools with 35.520 capacity and Sports Hall of 500 capacity at 4 High Schools were completely constructed in year 2000.

52 classrooms in 5 technical education schools for girls with 1.950 capacity and repair and restoration of 2 schools,
240 classrooms in 18 trade and tourism education schools with 10.000 capacity and pension of 200 capacity at 1 trade and tourism education school, Sports Hall at 4 schools,
93 classrooms in 5 İmam Hatip High Schools of 3.720 student capacity,

214 classrooms in 22 Multi Program High School of 8.470 capacity, ateliers in 20 Multi Program High School, Sports Hall in 1 MPHS, pension of 200 capacity in 3 MPHS were totally constructed.
