Turkey has educational, scientific and cultural agreements with 71 other
countries and work concerning these agreements continue. Currently, works
on six projects continued by Educational Committees of member countries
of the European Council. Participation to the projects under the headings
of "Democracy, Human Rights and Minorities; Education and Cultural
Cooperation" which are among the "European Council Cultural
Cooperation Committee's" program have been accomplished till 1993.
Southeast Mediterranean Project (SEMEP) which aims acquiring environmental
consciousness and World Inheritance in Young Hands Project, which takes
place among UNESCO Sister Schools Project and Globe Program are among
projects that continue currently.
Ministry of National Education (MONE) also participates actively in Organization
for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) Education Committee and
activities of Center for Educational Research and Innovation (CERI).
1.1.1. UNESCO/UNEVOC Project UNEVOC is "Professional and
Technical Training International Project" which was started in 1992
in order to strengthen professional and technical training in member countries
by United Nations Education, Science and Culture Organization (UNESCO).
MONE is the Turkish center of this project and is connected to UNESCO/UNEVOC
network
1.1.2. OECD INES Project
Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), Center for
Educational Research and Innovation (CERI) creates comparative educational
system indices according Indicators of Education Systems (INES) project
and publishes in a book named "Education at a Glance".
Three different group works are done in this project:
· In Network-A works, evaluation of the educational system by obtaining
student success data are aimed (TIMSS, PISA etc).
· In Network-B works, evaluation of the educational system from
the point of view of business market, by obtaining educational and business
market data are aimed.
· In Network-C works, creating school environment and school process
indices and evaluating educational input and output are aimed.
